With breathtaking views of the city seen through the choir loft windows, this design successfully achieves an environment conducive to both worship and congregational events. The Hilldale Church reflects the cultural identity of the resident Finish Christian community. The church design incorporates the use of local wood using poplar ceiling boards in sweeping curved forms which enhance the acoustic performance. The space is designed to encourage member and community use by the symphony and other musical groups to enjoy. Much of the construction work was completed by volunteers from the congregation and the care and craftsmanship is evident in many of the intricate wood and metal details.
