The downtown revitalization project included new storefront canopies, facades, walkways and three timber entrance structures. The materials and colours used mimic the waves of Lake Superior and include rippled “galvalume” facing and multicoloured blue wave motifs to unify the downtown core. Existing sidewalks are connected to new concrete and paving areas with blue concrete stains in an interlocking wave pattern. New LED street lighting and canopy façade and soffit lighting complete the nautical theme.
