The Health Services Centre Building is the newest addition to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre Campus. The 7-storey facility brings healthcare professionals, researchers, care providers, practitioners and health services together to complement the growing regional healthcare campus.
The building design matches the aesthetics of the existing hospital meets current energy codes. Oriented with its long axis east-west will allow better use of natural daylight. Stairwells are fully glazed to encourage use on a regular basis as a way to promote a healthier lifestyle.
A third stairwell was introduced to provide greater flexibility in the separation of the floors into individual tenant suites and to reduce internal circulation corridors.
