Kang Yue earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture in China between 2000 and 2008. He began his professional career in Shanghai, including a period working in the studio of a professor from the University of Hong Kong. Kang later joined China’s largest architectural design institute, where he was part of the Supertall Design Specialist Team and contributed to the construction documentation for a 600-metre skyscraper. In 2014, Kang founded his own practice in Shanghai, leading a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from new builds and renovations to architectural and interior design. His work focused on exploring the connections between architecture, the environment, humanity, history, technology, and lived experience.
Kang moved to Thunder Bay in 2024 and joined FormStudio Architects, where he continues to pursue design excellence with a commitment to creating thoughtful, high-quality spaces that reflect and strengthen local communities.
