WE ARE HIRING:

CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR

FormStudio Architects is a multi-discipline Architectural firm in Thunder Bay, Ontario. We are looking to hire a permanent full-time Contract Administrator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be an intermediate level architectural / construction technologist or intern architect who is able to take on the challenges and responsibilities of construction contract administration.  The candidate should possess a broad-based knowledge of construction methods and documentation, building science, and an understanding of the construction industry.

This position reports directly to the Principals of FormStudio Architects Inc.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Contact Administrator include but are not limited to:

  • Weekly travel to remote First Nation communities with occasional overnight stays.
  • Review construction for conformance with drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare site reports, complete with documents and pictures in electronic format.
  • Prepare site instructions and respond to requests for information.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Aptitude for reading drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction processes.
  • The candidate must be capable of working as part of a collaborative team and individually to meet project requirements and general office responsibilities.
  • Must be proficient with various software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with contract administration software is considered an asset.
  • Should possess a college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Architectural Technology and have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. Conversely, 5-10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Flexible approach to work hours to accommodate workload and deadlines as required.
  • Possess good communication skills and strategies.
  • Be familiar with, and/or have training in worksite safety.

Renumeration:

Wages will commence at $25 – $35 per hour, depending on the experience of the candidate and is based on a 37.5-hour work week. Comprehensive benefit package.

Probation Period:

3 months
